- Abimelech son of Gideon was technically the first king of Israel mentioned (Judges 9:6). Interestingly enough, his father Gideon (Jerubbaal) did not allow himself to be crowned by the people, but rather said that the King ought to be God Himself (Judges 8:22-23). Abimelech reigned three years over Israel (Judges 9:22).
- Saul son of Kish was anointed king of Israel by Samuel the prophet. He began his reign in humility, but because of disobedience, he and his line lost the kingdom.
- Ishbosheth (Eshbaal, 1 Chronicles 8:33; 9:39) son of Saul (2 Samuel 4:5) was 40 years old when he became king, and reigned two years (2 Samuel 2:10).
- David son of Jesse reigned 33 years over a united Israel in Jerusalem (1 Kings 2:11).
- Solomon son of David reigned over Israel for 40 years (1 Kings 11:40)
- Jeroboam son of Nebat, reigned 22 years (1 Kings 14:20)
- Nadab son of Jeroboam, became king in second year of Asa king of Judah and reigned two years (1 Kings 15:25). Evil in sight of the Lord (1 Kings 15:26)
- Baasha son of Ahijah (house of Issachar), became king in the third year of Asa king of Judah. Reigned in Tirzah 24 years (1 Kings 15:33).
- Elah son of Baasha, became king in the twenty-sixth year of Asa king of Judah and reigned two years in Tirzah (1 Kings 16:8).
- Zimri became king in twenty-seventh year of Asa king of Judah (1 Kings 16:10) for seven days (1 Kings 16:15) in Tirzah.
- Omri became king in thirty-first year of Asa king of Judah (1 Kings 16:23) for twelve years. Six years in Tirzah.
- Ahab son of Omri became king in thirty-eighth year of Asa king of Judah (1 Kings 16:29) for 22 years.
- Ahaziah son of Ahab (1 Kings 22:40) became king in seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah and reigned for two years (1 Kings 22:51)
- Jehoram son of Ahab became king in the second year of Jehoram son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah (2 Kings 1:17), and in the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah (2 Kings 3:1 cf. 2 Kings 8:16) for 12 years.
- Jehu son of Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi became king and reigned in Samaria 28 years (2 Kings 10:36).
- Jehoahaz son of Jehu (2 Kings 10:35) reigned in Samaria 17 years (2 Kings 13:1).
- Jehoash son of Jehoahaz (2 Kings 13:10) in the thirty-seventh year of Joash king of Judah, in Samaria.
- Jeroboam son of Joash became king in the fifteenth year of Amaziah son of Joash king of Judah (2 Kings 14:23).
- Zachariah son of Jeroboam became king in the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah and reigned for six months (2 Kings 15:8).
- Shallum son of Jabesh became king in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah and reigned a full month in Samaria (2 Kings 15:13).
- Menahem son of Gadi became king in the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah and reigned 10 years (2 Kings 15:17).
- Pekahiah son of Menahem became king in fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah and reigned for two years (2 Kings 15:23).
- Pekah son of Remaliah became king in the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah and reigned twenty years (2 Kings 15:27).
- Hoshea son of Elah became king in the twentieth year of Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah (2 Kings 15:30)/twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah (2 Kings 17:1) and reigned nine years.
