Incorruptible (1 Peter 1:4, 18-19, 23; 3:4)

The book of 1 Peter states several things are incorruptible, demonstrating the purity and power of Christ in His salvation.
- ...To an inheritance incorruptible... (1 Peter 1:4). We were born again into an inheritance that is incorruptible. Being the first usage in the letter, synonyms accompany it. To be incorruptible is to be undefiled and it doesn’t fade away. We may inherit things in our family, and whatever that may be, it does not last forever. This inheritance from the Lord, whatever that entails, lasts forever and is “reserved in heaven for you.”
- ...the precious blood of Christ... (1 Peter 1:18-19). We were not saved by money or something else ephemeral. The blood of Christ is most precious. It is efficacious to the uttermost because it is incorruptible.
- ...by the word of God... (1 Peter 1:23). We were born again by the incorruptible seed of the word of God. The word of God abides forever and is incorruptible.
- ...the hidden man of the heart... (1 Peter 3:4). Our new man, who is born again spiritually, is also incorruptible. Though our outward man perishes and is still prone to sin, the inward man is just as pure and incorruptible as the blood that bought him and the word that begat him again.
