One in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3:28)

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise. (Galatians 3:27-29)
In Christ, the racial barriers disappear. In the Old Testament, being of the seed of Abraham made you a member of the covenant and those outside that nation were “strangers.” In Christ, that all goes away. Everyone that is in Christ is of the seed of Abraham and fellow heirs. The same goes for male and female. Gender roles do not go away, but one is not lesser to the other. Regardless of how you fit into this world’s society, you fit and belong in the body of Christ.
Moreover, we have been baptized into Christ and have put Him on. We see again that being placed in Christ is something that God does, and indeed we are new creations.
We also are “one in Christ Jesus.” There is unity that can only happen in Christ. Those in Christ are our brothers and sisters and we are one body.
