Simplicity That Is in Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3)

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. (2 Corinthians 11:3)
The Gospel is rather simple in some ways. Jesus Christ was crucified for our sins and rose again. That blotted out our record of sins and we were placed in Him. We naturally want to make it more than that. We want to, by our own efforts, become righteous. Even after we are saved, we think we can achieve righteousness on our own. We want something to boast about. We want to contribute to our own spiritual growth. We never can. We have received His righteousness, the only righteousness we will ever have. By faith, we realize that righteousness day by day. Simply rely on Him and walk with Him.
