The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2)

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2)
We have no condemnation in Christ (Romans 8:1) because of the liberation found in this “law of the Spirit of life.” This contrasts with the “law in my members” (Romans 7:23) that defeats any of our good-intentioned desire to serve God in our minds. This law is the same as the law of sin and death mentioned here in Romans 8:2. By faith, by continual dependance on Christ as our source of life, this “law of the Spirit of life” freely works through us and made us free from this law of sin and death in our members. These “laws” are like the law of gravity. They happen naturally. Naturally, without faith, sin and death flow from within us. Naturally, with faith, the Spirit works in us and through us Christ’s life from above. Do not rely on yourself for anything; that is the source of sin and death. Rely on Jesus Christ, who forgave us our sins and delivered us from the power of darkness.
