These are some of the important things I believe about the Lord and His Word.

  1. I believe in the inspiration and inerrancy of the Scriptures (2 Timothy 3:15-17). These are the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments. Read more about the Bible here.
  2. I believe in the Trinity, namely, that there is one God that exists in three persons: God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost (1 John 5:7).
  3. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; that He is both God and Man (John 1:14; 8:58; 1 Timothy 3:16). He was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:20), was sinless (Hebrews 4:15), and performed miracles that affirmed His divinity (John 12:37). I believe in His vicarious death (1 Peter 3:18), His literal resurrection (John 20:24-28), and His present intercession for us (1 John 2:1). He will literally return to the earth before His millennial reign and receive Christians to Himself (John 14:1-3). This will occur after the tribulation and before He pours out His wrath on the earth (1 Thessalonians 5:9).
  4. I believe that humankind rebelled against God and is helpless to save himself (Genesis 3:6; Ephesians 2:1). God had to unilaterally act to save us (Romans 5:8). The Lord Jesus Christ died for everyone (John 3:16; 1 John 2:2).
  5. The Gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). One is saved by trusting Christ for salvation (John 3:36). Jesus secured our salvation by the shedding of His own blood (Romans 3:25). I reject Lordship salvation (Romans 4:5), but rather believe that submission to Christ is learned throughout the Christian life. Humankind cannot be saved by any other way except by believing on Christ (John 14:6).
  6. I believe that God wants everyone to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4), and that every Christian must share the Gospel regularly (Matthew 28:18-20). It is our responsibility to share the Gospel, because “faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). If we do not do share the Gospel, nobody will be saved (Romans 10:14).
  7. I believe in “once saved, always saved” (John 10:28-29; 11:25-26). Salvation is a free and eternal gift of God (Romans 6:23). Christians are born again (John 3:3), new creatures (2 Corinthians 5:17), and the old man is crucified with Christ once for all (Galatians 2:20). Christians are sealed with the Holy Ghost until the day of redemption (Ephesians 4:30).
  8. The unsaved will spend an eternity in the lake of fire (Revelation 20:14-15). The saved have and will retain eternal life (John 3:36).
  9. I believe that baptism is for saved people only, and by immersion (Acts 8:36-37).
  10. I believe that We are crucified with Christ and risen with Him (Galatians 2:20; Ephesians 2:5-6). The resurrection life is essential in our living for Him (Romans 6:4). I believe the Christian must forsake the world and die to himself and live for Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:24).
  11. I reject the practice called “speaking in tongues.” In the Bible, speaking in another tongue simply means speaking in another language.
