And Be Found in Him (Philippians 3:9)

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith (Philippians 3:9)
How tricky I am when I seek Christ. Even after seeking the blood of Christ to secure my forgiveness and seeking the cross to secure my deliverance from sin, I do so to establish my own righteousness. The Lord becomes a tool so that I may sin less or be perfect or some such thing. However, this contradicts everything. This dead man has no righteousness. The eyes of faith are on the wrong source.
Christ is everything, and the new man created in Him is not under any condemning law. But I cannot say within myself, “Look how much better I did today!” To say that is to have faith in the flesh. Rather, I look to Jesus, and the facts concerning our death, and know that it is finished.
