Tabitha (Acts 9:36-43)

Like in the case of Aeneas, the situation with Tabitha was used for many to turn to the Lord. The difference was that Tabitha was dead and was brought back to life.
These people of Joppa were of so much faith that they heard Peter was nearby, and they fetched him to raise her. Who of the apostles had done such a thing yet? Yet they believed the Lord could do it. Tabitha was a woman of exemplary character and good works: “this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did” (Acts 9:36). She may have been a widow since widows keep being brought up in the narrative. Her raising caused many to believe just like in Lydda.
Such big events in our lives cannot go by without giving glory to God and turning others to Jesus. “And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord” (Acts 9:42).
