Perfect and Purposeful

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Scriptures were God-breathed. Their purpose was for equipping the Christian. The Word of God is perfect and purposeful.
“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost” (2 Peter 1:20-21). The Holy Spirit moved specific holy men to write down the words of Scripture.
“God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds” (Hebrews 1:1-2). The Scriptures written down by the prophets and the Son of God are both ways by how God spoke. These are the voice of God, not the voice of men.
