Overview of the Bible
2022-11-28
When you have a breadth of understanding of the Scriptures, you are better equipped for deeper studies. Since the Bible is the Word of God, we ought to know what it says, even the parts that are not our favorites.
How is the Bible divided? What is the timeline of the Bible? Below are the divisions of the Bible narrative in chronological order. One does not need to read the Bible in this order; the left-to-right reading is just fine. However, I will group them together to discuss them in this way.
These will be far from comprehensive. Many events will be missing, even significant events. Do not completely rely on summaries like this. Read the Bible for yourself! It is a life-changing experience. Read it through cover to cover for the rest of your life, and you will find new treasure each time you read it.
