In Christ... Are Made Nigh by the Blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13)

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13)
Gentiles were “aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world” (Ephesians 2:12). Without God... without hope... knowing nothing about God’s covenants with His people. In Christ, all that alienation is gone. We were infinitely separated from God; now we are near Him. All those promises now apply to us because we are in Christ, including eternal life. This was all made possible by Jesus’ shed blood on the cross.
