Our Conversation Is in Heaven (Philippians 3:20)

The Christian ought not to be overly concerned with being a citizen of any country in this world. Our citizenship and source of life is from heaven. But the Christian also ought to consider why this is. Heaven may be a kingdom, but a King is what makes a kingdom. Our hope is there because Jesus is coming from there to gather us one day.

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (Philippians 3:20)

Try to remember this when the instability of the world intimidates you. The possibility of war and domestic unrest seems more likely in these times than ever. The Great Power Competition is coming to a head. However, those are not the great powers. There is one Great Power, and His kingdom is not from here.

Pray for peace. But if they will not have peace, “the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7).
