Charity, Part IX: In Part (1 Corinthians 13:9)

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. (1 Corinthians 13:9)
Why will gifts like knowledge and prophecy be done away with? Because they are imperfect things. We do not have perfect knowledge, and we cannot perfectly preach about the things that will come. “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2). We have read narratives about the return of our Lord, but how could we ever know the event by experience until we are actually there? We can only partially know and teach these things. These gifts can only go so far because of this imperfection.
