My Yoke Is Easy, and My Burden Is Light

The Christian life is the Christ life. It belongs to Jesus alone. We heap together so much on our shoulders that are unnecessary. We fight many battles that do not belong to us. So many cares of the world bother us. “Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things...”

However, the yoke and burden that we need to take on is Jesus, as He promises, “I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Taking on His yoke and burden is to take on rest: “and ye shall find rest unto your souls” (Matthew 11:29). His yoke is easy, and His burden, light.

Trust Him today with those cares. His yoke and burden operate in the realm of faith. As you go, you trust Him to perform what you never could.
