Ye Thought Evil Against Me; But God Meant It unto Good (Genesis 50:20)

But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. (Genesis 50:20)
Joseph’s brothers sold Joseph into slavery because they hated them. However, God turned their actions into good. This godly man, 13 years later, was the wisdom that saved the known world from famine, and this salvation included the brothers that wronged him. The rejected one became the world’s savior.
Joseph is likened to Christ in Acts 7:9-14. One way this verse is like Christ is how the Jewish nation turned against their Savior. They meant it for evil, but God meant it for their good and the good of the world. We are saved because of Jesus’ death, and one day the Jewish nation “shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son” (Zechariah 12:10).
