The World Through Him (John 3:17)

Have you ever used the phrase, “Just my luck!” Even the most non-religious people think in these terms. People are naturally religious and superstitious. Moreover, people often think that God is out to get them. But that is not what God is doing to people, but rather, we read: “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” (John 3:17). God wants us to be saved. What we want is not what we always really need. What we need is to be rescued from certain destruction. Jesus came and died to rescue sinners.
