Whom Have I in Heaven but Thee? (Psalm 73:25)

Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins. So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee. Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. (Psalm 73:21-25)
After Asaph lamented and envied the godless over their unpunished ways, he went to the temple and realized their destiny before the Lord. He repented, and here are some of his words.
The psalmist realized that the only thing that he has is the Lord. Like him, we trust in His counsel, and later, we shall be with Him in glory. If our eternity is to be with the Lord, what else is there? Is there anybody or anything else more wonderful? How magnificent it is in how He works out His perfect will in our lives when we exercise the littlest faith? How wonderfully beautiful is the consistency in His word?
This is why we must trust in His counsel always, and we must be with His people to sharpen each other.
