When Ye Pray, Believe That Ye Receive Them (Mark 11:24)

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. (Mark 11:23-24)

These verses have been used to guarantee that God will provide every frivolous lust that we have. We dispense with that foolishness here. God guarantees to provide things that are His desire. Likewise, if we walk with Him, we will want He wants. Therefore, we pray to God for things having to do with His mission. He wants us to walk in victory over sin and be shining lights in the world. Find those things that He wants and pray for those things.

So what do I want that He also wants? I want to know in experience all those things I am and have in Christ. I want to know the end of myself and walk with Him. The scary part is sometimes I want these things for selfish reasons, but I want all that selfishness to end. I want to know truly what it means to be crucified with Christ and to live with Him. If I could know anything, I would want to know Him more fully in this way. I want every mountain that stands in the way to these goals to be moved into the sea.
