Untoward Generation (Acts 2:40)

And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation (Acts 2:40).

Jesus Christ offers a new kingdom for us, and He will return someday. However, we can become attached to the kingdom of this world, thinking it will offer some temporal hope. Renew your mind. Remember what the Lord has done at Calvary. There is no hope here; some of trusting Christ is letting go of the “certainty” we think the world can offer. Come to terms with the certainty that this world will end. Even a passing peace that may come upon this world will be ephemeral. We must go against the tide of this generation. Only what is Christ’s will last forever.
