Thou Shalt Meditate Therein

2021-08-16

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. (Joshua 1:8)

This was written to Joshua concerning the Old Testament Law. However, how much more can we apply this to the New Testament, which concerns our Lord Jesus Christ, who is the fulfillment of the Law (Matthew 5:17)? Reading and thinking about what we have read is transformational. It is more than considering the history and narrative or even the original audience. Those things are important, but the Scriptures are a letter from the Lord Himself to us. Picture yourself in the story. There is a reason the book of Acts ends so abruptly. We are the continuation of the story. Along with rejoicing, praying, and thanksgiving, we occupy our minds with the Lord and His Word, always.

This is the fourth perspective in the pulling down of strong holds.
