The Power of a Changed Life

King Agrippa, believest thou the prophets? I know that thou believest. Then Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian. (Acts 26:27-28)

This is the second occurrence of the word “Christian” of three. Paul was given opportunity to speak to King Agrippa of the reason for his arrest, and he took full opportunity to share the Gospel with him. The apostle showed how he was once a fierce opponent of Christ, until Christ met him on the way to Damascus. Days later, Paul was zealous in sharing the good news of Jesus Christ wherever he could. This is the power of a changed life.

A Christian is one who has had his life transformed by Jesus Christ. He once was an enemy of God, but now He is fully immersed in the teachings of Christ, so that his life is never the same.

Paul’s story is so powerful, that even the king was almost persuaded to be a Christian. Maybe he was eventually? But this king was wise enough to know that one who believes on Christ is going to be supernaturally transformed, as Paul was.

The Christian is not a benchwarmer on Sunday. The Christian lives the resurrected life now, and we should expect to be as different as the Pharisee Saul of Tarsus is from the apostle Paul.
