The Good Story

I just got done writing about the The good fight. Now I am writing about The good story.

What is The good story? It is The good God who, despite a creation that rebelled against Him, redeemed them from certain death. However, the forces of darkness that fight against Him are defeated. The Good God wins and the bad guys lose.

Any story that is good will follow this pattern: The good guys win, and the bad guys lose. There may be setbacks for the good guys. They may lose some battles, but they win the war.

We may at times get enamored by the bad guys because they look and act tough. That may communicate a lot about us. But nonetheless, the war marches on, and the good guys, though not as tough, not as suave, not as talented, not as appealing, get brave and rise up and win.

In The good story, any good guys are good only because The Good God made them good. Their goodness is derived from His goodness.

There may be some violence and gore in The good story. There may be a lot of tragedy. But the glorious conclusion of The good story is so wonderful because justice is done against those who committed the atrocities in the story. The horror of the beginning and the middle makes the ending much sweeter.
