Let Him That Is Taught in the Word

Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. (Galatians 6:6)

The preacher of a church spends a lot of time doing the work of the ministry, whether that be teaching, or ministering to others. The Bible tells us elsewhere:

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine. For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward. (1 Timothy 5:17-18)

Here, we see that those who are servants teaching and preaching the Word should be honored, meaning, paid for what they do. We ought to make sure they are provided for. The Apostle Paul at times had to work a job to support all his needs, and other times, churches supported him. Pastors and missionaries likewise sometimes must have jobs to fulfill their ministry. As Christians, we want to make sure that such workers are provided for because they do so much for us: If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? (1 Corinthians 9:11).
