Good Stewards of the Manifold Grace of God (1 Peter 4:10:11)

2024-07-07

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 4:10-11)

Our spiritual gifts come from God; they are a stewardship. Whatever we have received from the Lord we need to invest in others. We are commanded to do so. We have been given proper authority to do so. If we teach, we teach “as the oracles of God.” If we serve, we do it according to “the ability which God giveth.” This is so we can glorify God. If we don’t? It went poorly of him who said, “Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin” (Luke 19:20).

As I go to teach my small class this morning, I do so with more encouragement with these words.
