The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the Knowledge of Him (Ephesians 1:17)

Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (Ephesians 1:16-17)

The apostle prayed for the people to receive wisdom and revelation from God. The main purpose was for them to see how much they have in Christ, and mainly in His resurrection and enthronement. Great riches are available to us in the risen Christ, just as it was for them.

Lack of wisdom and revelation is among many other issues as to why we have so much profession of Christ and so little change. All life is found in Christ; outside Him there is an unfruitful barren wasteland of death.

The key is the resurrection of Jesus; now that He is enthroned on high, He gives us everything that is His for our life and service to Him.
