Sinless Perfection (1 John 1:8)

There is a belief out there that teaches that they have achieved a state of sinlessness. Beware of this teaching, and make sure you do not subconsciously fall into this yourself.

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)

The apostle Paul described his own struggle when he said, “I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me” (Romans 7:21). Again, he said, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended” (Philippians 3:13). On the other hand, we know the day when we will be made perfect: “he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Philippians 1:6). Be patient.
