1 Timothy 2:1-4: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
1 Timothy 6:17: “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy...”
We are not interested much in the affairs of the world, though I may have been in the past. We do not want to be rich with the wealth of this world. We do not aspire to have the accolades of this world. We are content with what we have.
We want to walk with Jesus Christ, to know him, to serve him, and if necessary, to suffer for him. We want the name of Jesus Christ to be heard by every person who walks this earth, that they may be saved from the wrath to come.
Let us live with the peace and gentleness that Jesus exhibited on earth. Let us love with Christ’s love. Let us be content with what we have.
