Shoe’s Latchet (John 1:27)

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose. (John 1:27)
Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? (John 13:6)
Recall that John the Baptist, “Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater,” said he was not worthy to handle the shoes of Jesus. Chapters later, we see that Jesus washes the feet of those who would soon deny knowing Him in a few hours.
We are not worthy of Him acknowledging us, yet He paid the ultimate price that we might live with Him.
