The Sacrifice of Praise (Hebrews 13:15)

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. (Hebrews 13:15)

We no longer bring any sacrifice to any altar or Temple. In the past, people brought sin offerings because they had sinned. They needed to atone or fix the breach between them and their God.

So why do we bring the sacrifice of praise? It is because we do not have to bring anything to God for forgiveness of sins. Jesus Christ alone has permanently taken away the breach between God and humankind. Since there is nothing left to do, the only thing we can do is thank Him. This is the sacrifice of praise.

When Israel is restored to the land, likewise they offer nothing but praise, because God restored them to Himself by Himself. “The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: and of them that shall bring the sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD” (Jeremiah 33:11).

There will never be a need for us to sacrifice a single animal or anything else ever again. Jesus Christ made it right once for all. All we do is thank Him and yield to His service.
