How to Deal with Rejection
2022-04-15
Everyone has been rejected by someone at some point. It could be jobs, friends, or even family. Depending on what it was, the result was anything from mild disappointment to anguish. Nobody likes it. Nobody ever wants it. There is never a good time for it. However, it is inevitable.
The best choice there is during these times is to find someone who can strengthen and encourage you. You want to find someone who has also experienced rejection and knows what to do. You want to find someone who can lift you up when you have fallen.
This is Jesus Christ. He knows what rejection is like. When He was arrested, His enemies lied about Him while His friends went into hiding or denied Him openly. “The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner” (Psalms 118:22). He endured such rejection from sinners because something greater was ahead. “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). And because He is alive today, He can strengthen you and give you hope that this will not last forever.
