The Prophets Prophesy Falsely (Jeremiah 5:31)

A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? (Jeremiah 5:30-31)

What can be done for a society when the ones who are supposed to stand for goodness and righteousness turn to evil? The people applaud them and say “Amen” to them. The truly righteous by faith are eclipsed by all the falsehood and corruption. This was preached to the people on the eve of their destruction. “Shall I not visit for these things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?” (Jeremiah 5:29).

Beware when you live in a society such as this. Watch for Lord’s visitation.
