Practice Truth in Everything

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true... think on these things (Philippians 4:8).

Pilate asked, “What is truth?” (John 18:38). The Lord Himself told us a few chapters earlier, “Thy word is truth” (John 17:17). Truth is that which is the “really real.” The opposite of truth is a lie. If God’s Word is truth, that which really corresponds with reality, everything that contradicts God’s Word is a lie.

If that is the case, we must agree with God on everything: Who He is, what we are, our need for Him, the nature of the world... every question is filtered through the Word of God.

Is everything we think about true? Is everything we tell other people true? Do we say one thing and mean another? The slightest deviation, and we are walking in darkness. Let every thought, word, and action be carefully filtered through the Word of God, because He is truth.
