The Pervasiveness of Sin

But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. (1 Corinthians 5:13)

If one man’s sin could affect an entire congregation, this should be a warning to us. We do not want sin ruining our lives, but we also do not want to harm the people we love with it. I have had a cavalier attitude regarding sin, as do many. If we didn’t have such an attitude, we would progress much further in our spiritual lives. What is the cost of sin, and moreover, what do we and the people we care about miss on? It is both the punishment of sins and the loss of glory that is to be lamented. Keep turning back to the LORD, because there is forgiveness when we turn from sins.
