Our Power for Living

Our only power for living is in Christ. Jesus said, “Without me ye can do nothing” (John 15:5). The old man, the old worldview, the old works of evil have been condemned. In Christ we are alive. He saved us. We need to consider ourselves dead to the old order. Jesus made us a new creation. This needs to be on our minds constantly. We should not be praying for power for the old man; we should be claiming victory in Christ, for He has done it all.

The above paragraph is my prayer: not only for myself, but also for the many other believers who do not realize all of this. It has taken me ten years in the faith to begin to scratch the surface of understanding these things.
