Not My Will, but Thine, Be Done

Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. (Luke 22:42)
Jesus submitted to the Father in the most difficult thing: the crucifixion. How much more ought we to submit to the Father’s will, no matter what it might be? “I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me” (John 5:30). Seek the Lord in everything and abandon your own ambition.
