No More a Servant, But a Son (Galatians 4:7)
2025-06-18
And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:6-7)
Can you love servants and employees? Of course. Can you be loved by your employer? Sure. But can a servant be loved as much as a son? No.
What is the difference? There is a blood relation between a father and a son. The son comes out of the bowels of the father. If we are sons of God, then there is a bond greater than that of servitude. A son can tell his father, “I am not your son,” but DNA does not lie.
That is the connection between the father and the son. And the Spirit cries out from us, testifying that God is our Father. To be sealed with the Spirit is even greater than blood and DNA. And a son wants to please his father, because he loves him.
