No Confidence in the Flesh

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh (Philippians 3:3)

Here, the apostle spoke of religious ceremony like circumcision. But having no confidence in the flesh is much broader than that. Having no confidence in the flesh means you do not and cannot trust anything within yourself. Self-reliance ends and Christ dependency begins. This is for everything, including “natural” talents. It also includes the little things and decisions in life. Therefore, today is the day to choose to have no confidence in the flesh and trust in Christ alone for all things.
