Nevertheless I Live; Yet Not I, But Christ Liveth in Me (Galatians 2:20)

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

I am crucified with Christ... how much have I pondered this before? And I will ponder it forever. But, what is this: I live, but not I, it is really Christ living in me? It is to say that my life is really His life coming through me. The life of the new nature is not something solitary apart from Jesus of Nazareth. The new life is from Him and is Him. Whether the eye can perceive it or not, I am entwined with my Lord Jesus Christ, who died and gave Himself for me. There is no separate “me” out there. And the same it is for you, brother in the Lord. What God has joined, let no man put asunder. We abide in Him because He has the words of eternal life. There is none greater than He.
