My Words Abide in You (John 15:7)

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. (John 15:7)

There are two conditions: (1) I abide in Christ and (2) His words abide in me. If I remain in Him, which is remaining in faith in the finished work of Christ, I must also know what He has said. I must read the Word and let Him transform me by it.

Then I ask what I desire, and I will receive it of Him. Note here, that if I abide in Him by faith and know what He has said, my desires have been transformed into His desire.

Praise Him for giving us His desires so that we may serve Him in Spirit and in truth. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).
