That Man Whom He Hath Ordained

2024-11-10

Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:31)

We know that Jesus is Lord and accepted by the Father because He rose from the dead. All others before Him remained dead. Death is the consequence for sin, and if Jesus could not be held by it, then He must be greater than sin and sin must be put away forever. He must be righteous if He overcame death.

This was foolishness to most of the audience that day. But this decision is before every person everywhere. We can be assured there is a judgment, and that the Risen One is going to be the Judge.
