Law vs. Grace

2022-05-26

The principle of law says, “perform and then receive the blessing.” The Law in the Old Testament offers 14 verses of blessing for obeying and 54 verses of cursing for disobeying (Deuteronomy 28:1-68). The principle of law sets us up for failure. This principle goes beyond the Law in the Old Testament. Whenever we set up rules to live by as conditions for God’s blessing, we live under the principle of law.

The principle of grace is receiving God’s blessing, and then you can perform, but even then, you will come up short. Grace is not grace if it is earned. If you must work to receive grace, it is not grace. Grace cannot be grace with hell and threats hanging over your head.

For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. (Romans 6:14-15)
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3)
