Known of God

Many people confess to know God. However, we know that many such people claim to know God but are totally lost. Read what Jesus said about this:
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? (23) And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. (Matthew 7:21-23)
People who claim to be Christ’s followers, pointing to all that they did with their lives. But Christ said to them: I never knew you (Matthew 7:23).
Does not God know everything? This is not a matter of omniscience (1 Corinthians 2:10-11), but rather of intimate relationship. Consider the following:
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. (1 Corinthians 13:11-12)
When Christ returns, we will know Him as He knows us
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)
We will also be like Him and truly see Him face to face. The day of His return will truly be a glorious thing! The truly saved might know God, but more importantly, we are known of God.
