KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)

Jesus is also declared King of kings and Lord of lords in 1 Timothy 6:15 and Revelation 17:14. A controversy has come up about this in the news recently. I am not sure what all that means, but I do know this. Jesus Christ is surely King of kings and Lord of lords over every person, every city, every nation, from the lowest hell to the highest heaven. Christ being King will always be controversial to the world.

One day this King will return. We must submit to Him now or we will submit to Him then. Please submit to Him now. “And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11).

One day the nations of the world will get together and pitifully try to fight against this Lord. “And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh” (Revelation 19:21).

Why fight Him? You cannot win. He had compassion for us in that He bore the wrath of God for our sin on the cross. If He conquered death, how can anybody defeat Him?
