Instant Confession of Sin
2021-10-13
Confession to the Lord is a normal part of the Christian life. “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:8-9). We do not confess to be forgiven in the sense that we need to be resaved. We confess like a child who sinned against a parent to make a relationship right. Our DNA still says we are our parents’ children when we do them wrong; it is the same with God as our Father. We just need to confess. We also need to confess to others when we do them wrong and be quick to forgive others as well. “I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord” (Philippians 4:2).
But why wait? Keeping the accounts short will not inhibit your relationship and service to God. Confess immediately to the Lord right away. And if we are honest, confession should be a regular part of our lives.
