In the Latter Times, Part II

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (2 Timothy 4:2-4)

The last times also are characterized by extreme pride and narcissism. They also do not want to hear the word, but they rather want to hear whatever they want to hear. It is good to identify when others exhibit these behaviors. However, how bad is it when we see these things manifesting in ourselves? It can happen, it has happened and will happen again unless we cast off everything of this world in favor of the Lord Jesus Christ, who has bought us with His very own blood, and intercedes for us day and night. He needs to intervene in our lives, and we need to be ready to hear His call, which is abundant in the Word and by His Spirit.
