In the Latter Times (1 Timothy 4:1)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron (1 Timothy 4:1-2)

Here during this sunset of our civilization, we can expect that the Spirt is talking at least somewhat of our time. Many depart from the faith, with families that had Christian forebears with children that know nothing of their fathers’ faith. They were seduced by the spirits of the age, whether by religions ushered in by globalism or materialism.

There are so many wooing our attention. Even we who have professed Christ have brought other things alongside Christ. Any such force is far from benign and has placed us in a spiritual stranglehold.

The danger is that when anyone, us included, get wooed by the unseen forces of darkness, our minds deaden and become numb to God’s truth. We have received spiritual hypothermia and frostbite so that our soul feels nothing of the Spirit of God.

I must fight against any urge that is calling me to surrender spiritually. I must surrender to Jesus the Lord only.
