I Am for Peace: But When I Speak, They Are for War (Psalm 120:7)

I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war. (Psalm 120:7)
This degree psalmist begged the Lord’s deliverance when he cried to Him. Certain liars, perhaps those that slandered or accused the writer, caused him much pain. As a result, he was far from Israel, sojourning in Mesech and Kedar. He had lived with people who would not coexist peacefully. This is the last verse.
If you stand for Jesus Christ and His Gospel, this final verse will resonate to some degree. The Gospel of Christ declares peace between God and humankind. God extends His olive branch with the amnesty found in Christ. However, people do not want it. They lash out more against such a man. The false tongue continues its efforts against those who speak truth.
Here is the sum of it, which will play itself out in various scenarios in times to come:
Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans. Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me. But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of. For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain. (Acts 28:17-20)
