He Will Be Found

2021-11-04

If you seek the Lord, He will be found. The Scriptures tell us,

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. (Matthew 7:7-8)

More importantly, He is seeking you today:

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10).

There is coming a day, however, when you can seek Him no more:

Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near (Isaiah 55:6)

You must seek Him today, for He seeks you.

Remember Peniel, when a Man met Jacob, and Jacob wrestled Him all night (Genesis 32:22-32). There are days when seeking God is like this, hours or days or more of calling on Him. It cost Jacob his thigh, but he received the blessing. He saw the face of God and lived.

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. (Genesis 32:30)

Seek the Lord in this fashion with such faith, and surely He will be found.

And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. (Genesis 32:29)

We have an advantage over Jacob today. We know that His name is Jesus.

Be often at His gate; give His door no rest. I can tell you that He will be found. ~Samuel Rutherford
