He Revived, and Stood Up on His Feet (2 Kings 13:21)

And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet. (2 Kings 13:21)

Imagine at this man’s funeral and burial, that by touching Elisha the servant of the Lord’s bones, that the dead man revived. He was very dead in that the men burying him were convinced his life was over. Suddenly, the dead one became so much alive. It is not that he stirred a bit, but that he stood up.

This is the one of many pictures of the principle of life out of death in the Scriptures. Every story like this one portrays our Lord. However, with the Lord, we have something bigger than Elisha. How much more certainly do we live and will live again than the one who touched the bones of a prophet?
