He Drank of the Wine

There is a pattern in the book of Genesis with Noah and Lot. After their salvation from God’s judgment, they drank alcohol, and were abused by their own children.

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard: And he drank of the wine, and was drunken... (Genesis 9:20-21)

And they made their father drink wine that night... (Genesis 19:33)

These men turned to alcohol after losing everything they had in the flood and the fire. They lost family and friends. They allowed this devastation to let their guard down, and wickedness occurred. Clearly, this does not excuse the evil of their children. However, alcohol became the vehicle for abusers to harm them.

Think again before getting involved with alcohol. There is not a good reason to drink it.
